This new 20th anniversary edition includes a new foreword, a much requested index, and a never-before-seen comic. I found it in my box of original cartoon art that for some reason was missed and didn't get printed in the original book.
I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since I first published this book. I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Boston Massachusetts. On occasion I would draw a cartoon of what I was experiencing. It cracks me up to look back at the quality of these cartoons. It’s apparent that I used a variety of supplies and methods, which consisted of whatever I could afford or have access to at the time. Most of the time I would spend a few hours on a p-day at the kitchen table. Many of the cartoons have situations that happened to me or other missionaries serving around me. All the cartoons were written while on my mission and then I drew the ones I never got around to when I got home. Missionaries don't have a lot of free time which is probably a good thing. Anyway, I hope you enjoy them. Looking back they seem a little harsh but I decided to leave them just as they were originally published. My hope is that we can to learn to laugh at ourselves and if somehow they can make somebody smile then mission accomplished.
